U.C. Davis Medical Center M.I.N.D. Institute

This project on the Sacramento campus of the U.C. Davis Medical Center included four new buildings totaling 136,963 square feet and infrastructure:

Clinic & Academic Building 1 - 53,600 square feet
Resource Center Building 2 – 18,934 square feet
Dry Lab Research Building 3 - 37,791 square feet
Wet Lab Research Building 4 - 26,638 square feet

This project included the design of medium voltage power service and telecommunications cabling interconnections from the campus systems. The lighting design services included developing the site lighting design. Building telecommunications cabling design included design of telecommunication rooms, racks, grounding and premises wiring.

M. Neils Engineering, Inc., as a sub-consultant to the architect, performed site electrical, telecommunications cabling and lighting systems design, building telecommunications cabling design, prepared electrical drawings and specifications and performed peer review on the remainder of the building systems electrical design. M. Neils Engineering, Inc. also as a sub-consultant to the architect, provided construction support services including review of the contractor’s electrical material and equipment submittals, preparing responses to the contractor’s requests for information and performing construction observations of the electrical work.
